                  My Furry Family

                  Wilson

                  Picture
Wilson came into my life in the year 2000. He spent his first 7 months in a cage at a pet store. He was reduced, reduced, reduced. I didn't want to purchase him and support pet stores that sell animals. Animals are not a commodity and too many people fall for that 'puppy in the window' syndrome without realizing the time, patience, commitment and costs that come with pet ownership. However, it broke my heart to see him living like that, so I brought him home. He is sweet, affectionate and a constant source of entertainment.

                  Kevin

                  Picture
Sweet Kevin was found as a stray and lived in a shelter where he sat unclaimed for a month. As shelters go, Kevin's time was up and he was scheduled to be euthanized. The Rescue I foster for, Speaking Of Dogs, pulled him out. Kevin wasn't meant to be my original foster dog. I was on my way to pick up another dog but when I saw Kevin I had a feeling I knew him (which I didn't). I instantly bonded with him and took him home. Two weeks later I adopted him. I truly bless every day that I have with Kevin. He is the most loving dog to every creature that crosses his path. I adore him!

                  Winks ;)

                  Picture
This little guy was found outside severely injured. No one knows what caused his injuries but he needed his tail and an eye removed. He obviously went through some major trauma. Guess what? You'd never know it. Winks is the happiest go lucky cat you'd ever meet. He loves everyone and everything! He greets everyone that comes into the house with affection and enthusiasm. He is a gem!  Winks was rescued by Urban Cat Relief and adopted by me!

                  Atlas

                  Picture
Atlas was homeless living in someones backyard. They built a shelter for him and tried to find his owners but no one came forward. That is how I adopted him. I was looking for a friend for Winks. Adopting Atlas was the best move I could have ever made! They are the best of friends! Atlas is a chatty cat and is Mr. Friendly to all the foster cats that come here. He loves everyone and is very affectionate. Atlas was clicker trained to give a 'high five'.

                  Pebbles

                  Picture
Pebbles was once the Mascot at the Toronto Wildlife Centre. She used to freely fly around the office visiting and sharing meals with the volunteers and employees until a volunteer complained to Public Health. They insist all animals be caged at all times and  a notice was issued regarding Pebbles free flight. She now lives with me where she gets to enjoy free flight times. Pebbles is a ring-necked dove.  She is very affectionate, vocal, loves attention and enjoys being petted!
