As my business name suggests, I am passionate about animal welfare. I turned that passion into my life's work. Welfare Of Our Furry Friends was created in 1998 and I have been working professionally with dogs ever since. I'm a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the CCPDT since 2007, I graduated with honours from the Karen Pryor Academy, and I’m Fear Free Certified. I currently teach at Wizard Of Paws in Georgetown. My love for dogs has led me to volunteer with Speaking Of Dogs Rescue, as their in-house trainer.
My goal is to set you and your dog up for success! My training includes owner guidance, problem prevention, management tips, support and solutions to teach your dog the skills it needs to function happily and healthily in its world. Methods are clear, and easy to understand and apply. The training process matters just as much as the outcome. Training is focused on educating you and your dog, understanding what works for them, and reinforcing good behaviour, rather than punishing mistakes. I use reward based methods such as toys, play, treats and life rewards, all of which makes training fun and very effective!
